Drowning out the sounds
Of the vehicles racing by
Drawing me closer
To the silence inside
Both surrounded and seeded
By stillness seeking to speak
Images floating nearby
Almost out of arms reach
A light shines brighter
A candle in the deep
Tears flood the eyes
Rinsing old memories clean
She still smiles out
From the vaults within
Echoes growing louder
From the vaults within

The past rushes in
Stillness gives pause
And silence recedes
I must return to now
To the buzz of rushing wheels
