When you have come to the edge of all the light you have
And step into the darkness of the unknown
Believe that one of the two will happen to you
Either you’ll find something solid to stand on
Or you’ll be taught how to fly!
– Richard Bach
I have come to the end of my time at my current job, today is my last day. And as I reflect on the days spent here, I am filled with a sweet sorrow, for I really enjoyed my work and for a long time I was really happy at work and with the friends I made at work. But of late, I was chafing as I looked to take flight and challenge myself further. The desire to learn more, and do more has always been one of the key drivers in my career choices, and so I realised it was time to move on. Learning continuosly and growing is an imperative. (Think of the shark which needs to keep swimming to breath and will die if immobilised.) And when that stops happening, and I find that I am not getting ‘bigger’ but smaller, I know it’s time for something to change. Its been great, and I look forward to greater things.
